Buckley Jr. (1925–2008) were political animals, but they were also devoted enough to literature and other features of high culture to bestow television with a touch of class. Both attended prep schools; their manner was mandarin. Both men spoke fluently, with inflections that were not quite British but were certainly without any regional specificity. Vidal, grandson of a U.S. senator, did not attend college and achieved commercial success. Gore Vidal: The United States of Amnesia is a 2013 documentary film about the life and career of author Gore Vidal. It premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in 2013.[2]
Synopsis[edit]
The film is a commentary on Vidal's professional and personal life, and the impact he had in art and politics.[3] It includes exclusive interviews with Vidal, as well as figures such as Burr Steers and Christopher Hitchens.[3]
